FRENCHOLOGY FRENCH PROGRAMMES FOR OLDER STUDENTS (GRADES 3-6), (GRADES 7&8) (SEPARATE GROUP)

WHAT DO STUDENTS LEARN?

As educators we understand that at this stage of their learning journey students are sponges for knowledge, their brains wired with creativity.

We also understand that they are ready to learn in various ways which are inspired by their individual interests. Our visually - based and hands on CODING FOR YOUNGER STUDENTS French Programme introduces students to the basics of computer programming, using a user-friendly, visual interface in a French as Second language learning environment. Students will have the opportunity to create projects based on their interests via French Speaking and Writing Curriculum. Via the use of visually- stimulating platforms students will engage in creating computer programs from source code. Our Coding course teaches students sequencing, logic, and critical thinking skills as well as provides them the opportunity to work in teams - collaborating and sharing ideas to investigate, create and test the best solutions.

Once students have learned the fundamentals of coding, they move on to building educational video games, and creating phone apps within context of French Curriculum in hard copy as well as on a device. Our goal is to provide a highly collaborative and creative French space for our students where they are encouraged to conduct hypotheses, problem solve, continually improving their creations. Their projects should also serve as a great tool to continue the STEM and French language acquisition discussion at home.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

This course is well-suited to students who are interested in who enjoy using their keyboarding skills, creating their own board games and who are detail-oriented. It is suitable for students in Grade 3 to 6

Also suitable for students who are:
